Traditional_japanese_house.jpgSliding doors (fusuma 襖) are placed instead of walls so the room can be configured for a special occasion. Lots of the traditional architecture is not native to japan, it came from China and other asian cultures. Wood is used for building. in all different forms, stone is avoided except for specific uses. Posts and Lintels help hold up a curved roof while the walls are paper thin.
